Quick and Easy Picnic Preparation Tips
Our motto is "Always Be Prepared" and that extends to preparing for your picnic or outdoor event. So, we compiled a quick checklist of items that will get each and every picnic off to a roaring start.
Here's what you need...
- A fully fitted picnic basket or backpack which includes plates, utensils, cloth napkins, cups, and an insulated cooler compartment. Some picnic baskets and packs even include salt and pepper shakers, tablecloths, wine bottle openers, insulated wine cooler compartments and thermoses.
- A high quality, soft, comfortable picnic blanket will put you at ease, providing a comfortable place to sit and a barrier against insects.
- Frozen blue 'cold packs' are preferable to ice, because they won't melt and leak all over the place after a long day in the sun.
- Don't forget paper towels or napkins, as well as some moistened hand wipes for sticky foods.
- A plastic bag or plastic wrap is helpful for covering and storing leftovers that weren't packed in their own container
- Recycle a grocery bag by using it as a trash receptacle.
- Remember to protect yourself from the sun: bring sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses. If you're extra sensitive, you may want an umbrella.
- A small first-aid kit and insect repellant will ensure that you're not mobbed by insects, and you're covered if any minor accidents happen.
- One of the most important things to bring is a camera, to help you remember this perfect picnic forever!
